American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG)
An annual essay competition run by the American Society of Human Genetics commemorating National DNA Day. Open to high-school students (grades 9-12) in the US and worldwide, entrants write a 750-word essay responding to a yearly genetics prompt. First place earns $1,000 plus a genetics-lab equipment grant for the student's teacher.
