Over roughly nine months, student teams design, build, test, and fly a high-powered rocket carrying a payload topic set by NASA's Space Launch System and Artemis program offices, passing preliminary design, critical design, flight readiness, and post-launch review milestones. High school teams can only enter after qualifying through the American Rocketry Challenge or Rockets for Schools, and their adult representative must complete NASA's Advanced Rocketry Workshop.
