What you'll need
NASA runs this aeronautics design challenge for teams of 3 to 7 students in grades 9 to 12, each with an adult coach. For the 2026 to 2027 season, teams design a cargo aircraft fueled by liquefied natural gas and write a proposal. Registration closes December 8, 2026, submissions are due January 25, 2027, and finalists present virtually in April 2027.
