What you'll need
Short film competition within the Indy Shorts Film Festival for filmmakers ages 14 to 19 whose film was completed before starting university. Films from outside Indiana are eligible, must run no longer than 15 minutes 59 seconds including credits, and require a student ID or other proof of enrollment, and the director must not have graduated high school earlier than 2025; entry is free on FilmFreeway, and Indiana filmmakers enter the separate Indiana Spotlight High School Film Competition category. Submissions for the July 20 to 25, 2027 festival are open now; the FilmFreeway entry page lists a final extended deadline of March 21, 2027, while the sponsor submit page says submissions close April 4, 2027, so entrants should plan to submit by March 21, 2027.
