What you'll need
The International Bridge Building Contest challenges individual high school students to design, build, and load-test a model bridge made from official basswood, scored on structural efficiency. Students qualify by placing first or second at an official regional contest, then advance to the international event held each spring (the 2027 contest is set for March 6, 2027). It builds hands-on physics and engineering skills, and top finishers can earn recognition and engineering scholarships.
