The Perry Initiative
What you'll need
A free one-day program where high school students perform mock orthopaedic surgeries, run biomechanical engineering experiments, and hear from practicing orthopaedic surgeons and biomedical engineers. Programs are held at host sites around the country, and participants get mentorship from the engineers and surgeons who teach the sessions. Applicants write a short essay and each site closes about a month before its program date.
